Bulgaria is beautiful. I love the people and the scenery. The drivers are still rowdy, however I believe them to be more cautious than in the rest of the Balkans. I did not like the food as much in Bulgaria as I did in the rest of the Balkans. The cities themselves did not seem as affluent, although they are probably the one of the richest countries in the Balkans. All of this was made up for during the beauty in the drives. My favorite city there was a tie. I liked Plovdiv because of the ancient Roman ruins in the middle of the city. I also liked Veliko Tarnovo because it was smaller and felt more personal. The best part was the utterly adorable kittens don the street from our hotel.
