After a fabulous dinner, we went to see the ceremony of the Whirling Dervishes. The Dervishes spin around, always in the same direction, because they “pray” while they are spinning.
They spun around and around for 20 minutes with a couple of 30 second breaks. They spin so long that they fall into a trance. They start out with their hands on their chest and then, their arms go up over their heads. I would get dizzy spinning around like that. No pictures allowed.
